Scholarship Program
Purpose: The Waterloo Youth Sports Organization believes in providing services and programs to all youth who wish to participate in WYSO’s athletic programs regardless of financial status. WYSO will attempt to provide opportunities for persons with financial hardship.
Eligibility: Applicants must live in the School District of Waterloo (or attend school in Waterloo) and must complete a scholarship application form. The applicant is determined to be eligible for financial assistance if the household income is at or between the amounts on the table on the Scholarship Application, or if other individual circumstances areapproved by the WYSO Director/Board. Verification of income may be requested.
Application Guidelines:
Application form must be updated every 12 months.
All information on the application must be true and accurate – all information will be kept confidential. Scholarships are legally recoverable if paid and awarded on the basis of false information supplied by the applicant and will nullify your request for future scholarships.
All applicants are treated equally – no applicant will be discriminated because of age, race, color, sex, national origin, or disability.
A program fee may be waived or reduced, however, costs associated with supplies, uniforms or special events must be paid by participant.
INCOME means Adjusted Gross Income on your 1040 Income Tax Form.
If a fundraiser is held to raise money for the activity that the participant is registering for, they must participate in the fundraising activity to the level determined by said organizer. Organization may also require donation of time to assist with the activity.
